The population kept increasing by 1860, there were 35,000 Chinese-Americans living in America. At that time, the Chinese laborers were well known industrialists and plantation owners. The Chinese were pushed to work in laundry, fisheries, gold mines, and farms. In 1863, the Chinese and Irish became the main work force in the Transcontinental road, they suffered horrendously as the conditions were horrible. In 1868, China and America signed the Burlingame Treaty where they have come to an agreement that China could get these specific kind of rights.
